Wikimania Scholarships Process Meetup

After careful consideration of the situation I've decided, with regret, to cancel this meetup. It looks unlikely that we'll be able to get a room for it and many people that would like to attend won't be able to make it. In a month's time we will have the post-conference reports and scholarship data, giving us much more to work with, so arranging some virtual meetups for then seems sensible. I will keep all those signed-up below informed of developments. CT Cooper · talk 13:23, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This meetup is for the discussion of the scholarship selection process and criteria for Wikimania 2014 and future years.

Cancelled

Who?

Anyone interested is welcome to attend. There is no need to be a member off the Scholarship Committee, work for the Wikimedia Foundation, or be a scholarship recipient.

Any ground rules?

The personal nature of scholarships means discussions about the selection process can attract passionate debate. Criticism, disagreement etc. is certainly allowed, but please observe the friendly spaces policy. In particular, public discussion about the merits of individual applicants or recipients is inappropriate.

Agenda

  • Feedback about the Wikimania 2014 selection process
  • What went well?
  • What didn't go well?
  • Issues to review for 2015 (including the pre-existing list)
  • How will proposed reforms be put to the community?
  • Your idea here!

Minutes

A brief review of what was discussed will be posted here after the meetup is complete.
