HappyDog discovered the English Wikipedia in 2003 and became immediately hooked.
Since then, aside from editing for various Wikimedia projects (in various languages) he has built large parts of MediaWiki.org (including the home page), written a number of MediaWiki extensions, contributed to the MediaWiki code-base in a few small ways and generally been involved in the MediaWiki discussion.
He has become somewhat disengaged over the past few years, but hopes that this event in his home town will reinvigorate his enthusiasm! :-)
