Talk:Submissions/Transforming Wikipedia into the timeline of everything!

Very interesting project. Can it create a timeline of, not the world, local areas, such as the UK or Kenya? It would be of use to the greater community as a teaching aid and as a recruitment aid for young people everywhere. Geraldshields11 (talk) 22:27, 26 February 2014 (UTC)
- Really pleased you find the project interesting. Yes, the system allows anyone to create a timeline on any subject by simply searching for events of interest and adding to the timeline by clicking on search results. Once the timeline directory is launched, you will actually be able to just search for "Kenya" for example and see a ready-made timeline on just that topic. All timelines in the directory will also be user editable so they can be continuously improved by the community. NavinoEvans (talk) 01:19, 1 March 2014 (UTC)
- It's worth adding that we will also be including a location filter, so that any timeline in the directory (including the timeline of everything) can be filtered to show only events in a particular country, city or town. NavinoEvans (talk) 23:52, 1 March 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for the clarity. After second review, this project could be used to create recuits or at least inspire new content. Geraldshields11 (talk) 19:14, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you Geraldshields11. Yes, I certainly hope so. The general message throughout the site will be to send editors back to Wikipedia and Wikidata if they want to see any content improved or added. We will include a section on this in the presentation if our submission is accepted.NavinoEvans (talk) 11:26, 25 April 2014 (UTC)
