- Abstract (at least 300 words to describe your proposal)
I have worked as a trademark attorney for several years, including an internship in the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Since there has recently been some discussion over whether Wikipedia should obtain trademark registration of its marks, I would be glad to discuss exactly what this entails and what consequences it would have. I would be equally glad to discuss the use of trademarks in Wikipedia articles.

- 30 Minutes
- Will you attend Wikimania if your submission is not accepted?
- Yes!
- Slides or further information (optional)
- I will undoubtedly have slides.
- Special requests
- None, but please note, by the way, that I have proposed three possible presentations here (including Submissions/Wikipedia and the evolving world of privacy regulation and Submissions/How to get a half a million edits (and is it worth it?)), but may only have the time or the opportunity to do one or two, and would most prefer to do this one. My second preference is Submissions/How to get a half a million edits (and is it worth it?), although that may change in the next half a year!
