wikiHow is a wiki with the goal of enabling every person on the planet to learn how to do anything. Alexa ranks wikiHow in the top 150 websites. wikiHow is one of the most popular wikis not affiliated with the Wikimedia Foundation. By being a totally independent project, wikiHow has developed unique culture, software features and content that distinguish it from other wikis.

While wikiHow has drawn much inspiration from Wikipedia, wikiHow does most things from admin elections to multimedia totally differently than Wikipedia. wikiHow also prides itself on being a gender balanced community, which is rare among wikis. This talk will not only update people on the latest happenings at wikiHow, but share insights from wikiHow's unique approach that will be novel and interesting to Wikipedians.
