Printed matters/Booklet

This page is to assemble the materials required in the printed conference booklet. It deals only with content and ordering, not with design, so do not spend time trying to make anything here pretty! The only design consideration you can use here is pagebreaks, and even then they may be overridden by the designer.

Emergency Numbers

Should an emergency happen, use the numbers below. They can be dialed free of charge from any fixed or mobile phones.

112 or 999: You can call 112 in order to reach emergency services (ambulance, fire and rescue, police)
111: You can call 111 when you need medical help or advice fast but it’s not a life threatening emergency. This will put you in touch with a health professional from the NHS (UK National Health Services)
101: You should call 101 to report crime and other concerns that do not require an emergency response (Theft, property damage...)

Barbican Visitor information: How do I get there All of London's major airports have direct train links (examples include Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted Express) into the center of the city from which local transportation is available. The nearest tube station to The Barbican is called "Barbican", however the venue is also within walking distance of Moorgate, Liverpool Street and St Paul's stations.

Programme

Hackathon: Aug 6-10: Wikimania Hackathon 2014 will take place in 6–10 August, 2014, beginning as a pre-conference two days before the main Wikimania programme starts. Everyone is welcome to the Hackathon days and no coding experience is needed to join.

Electrical Power

UK plugs, are large and have three, substantial, flat prongs. They are unlike plugs used anywhere else in Europe. If you use dual voltage appliances and devices, all you will need, throughout the UK, is a simple UK Adaptor Plug. The mains electricity is 230v/50Hz.
